The Mario R. Mion Political Science Honors Scholarship

Eligibility: Awarded to a student majoring in Political Science with a minimum 3.0 GPA who has obtained at least 90 semester hours college/university credit of which at least 45 semester hours has been earned from Columbus State University.

The Harry S. Truman Scholarship

Eligibility: Full-time junior-level student pursuing a bachelor's degree, nominated by the institution's Truman Scholarship Faculty Representative, in the upper quarter of his or her class, and a U.S. citizen. Institutions can nominate up to 4 students.
Good candidates also should have an extensive record of public and community service, outstanding leadership potential and communication skills, and is committed to a career in government or elsewhere in public service.

Awards: Up to $30,000 toward a public service-related graduate degree.

Deadline/Renewable: January 4, 2019 (Institutional), February 5, 2019 (National)


Claude Allen Shumate Jr. & Claude Allen Shumate III Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility: Recipient must be enrolled as a full-time student at CSU and must maintain a 3.0 GPA.

Awards: Varies

Deadline/Renewable: January 31, 2018/Yes, contingent upon the student maintaining a 3.0 GPA.

Kennan, Parker, Duncan, & Key Scholarship

Eligibility: Annually given to a junior or senior with above-average GPA and a strong record of school and/or community service.

Awards: Educational expenses up to the cost of tuition and fees.
